Fine Artist

As a Fine Artist (painting and drawing), Ben had his art education at the Yaba College of Technology, University of Nigeria, Nsukka and University of Benin, where he graduated with National Diploma (N.D) in General Art, Bachelor's degree (B.A) in Fine and Applied Arts with Education and Master of Fine Art (M.F.A.) in Painting respectively. He started the Osondu, Soul Searcher, and Spirit of Africa series of dazzling artwork with strokes effect. Osondu series are collections of over 200 cultural heritage drawings.



Artist Statement

Hallmark of my creative expression is the intricate symmetric lines, patterns and motifs that explore and portray diverse socio-cultural phenomena inspire by the rich Uli and Nsibidi iconography and philosophical designs. By incorporating these attributes, my work conveys a sense of perpetual and concentric motion, creating a dynamic visual experience. These elements are not merely decorative; they embody my intent to explore the complexity of the human mind, cognitive processes, and stimulate imagination.

My artistic practice thrives on spontaneity. Whether working with ink or pen on paper or employing acrylic on canvas, I crafts narratives that unfold organically, reflecting the unpredictability and interconnections of life. Each piece is a story - a dialogue between the artist and his medium that ultimately resonates with universal themes across cultures.

Through my work, I do not only celebrates African heritage but also invites viewers to embark on a journey of introspection and discovery. My works are a testament to the power of art to bridge cultures, inspire thought, and evoke emotion.
